“Think and Grow Rich”

by Napoleon Hill

Key Points from the Book:

  • Whatever the mind can think, the mind can achieve.
  • We are the masters of our faith, because we have the power to control our thoughts.
  • Every man is what he is because of the dominating thoughts which he permits to occupy his mind.
  • No one is ready for a thing, until she can believe she can acquire it, until there’s a burning desire. The mind must be prepared to receive it.
  • One of the most common causes of failure is the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat.
  • Six definite practical steps:
    1. Fix in your mind the exact amount of money you desire, be definite about the amount.
    2. Determine exactly what you intend to give in return for the money you desire.
    3. Establish a definite date when you intend to possess the money you desire.
    4. Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire, and begin now to put this plan into action.
    5. Write these things out (amount, date, plan to accomplish it)
    6. Read the written statement aloud twice every day: just after waking up and just before going to bed at night.
